TV-HTT-SHore power connections

Does anyone know if there is a reason why I shouldn't connect the trailer to the truck power harness up while the trailer is plugged into shore power?

RE: Problem Running off 110v Power At Home (Roo 233)

If it's not a breaker, and the dealer isn't too far off, call and bring it in, the unit is brand new.

RE: Memory Foam May Have Saved Me $8,000 and the Jayco 26L.

"We also have a 4" memory foam, mattress pad and a fitted sheet. When packing up, I fold the memory foam in two and place it on the back bunk bed. It is very comfortable and we have never had any issues of the mattress separating.
We also have a 3 inch memory foam for our bed and we love it and we have a great way to store it----up and over the couch. It fits there perfectly and it is out of the way of going back and forth even when you are cleaning out and getting ready for the next trip. Hope this helps and that you can even do it. Give it a try!!!! Happy Camping!!!"
Another reason to buy a bigger trailer, no couch or BB's to store our mattress topper...

RE: New Storage Door Seals

On mine the darn cheap foam gasket was too thin and didn't make good contact with the door frame all around. I replaced it with some good 1/4" x 1/2" thick closed cell stuff I had from another project. Originals had the seam at about 3:00, changed that to 6:00 at the time, they don't leak any more.

RE: Memory Foam May Have Saved Me $8,000 and the Jayco 26L.

Not having a Jayco, is the mattress actually 2 separate peices? Mine's a 2 peice but they are hinged together pretty tight, even before I bought the 3" memory foam I didn't notice the split. It was how ever too hard/thin to sleep on. The only bear about the memory foam is they don't exactly fold up nice and neat for storage. Half my floor space is taken up by just the one rolled up. Well, maybe not half but it's darn big. Of course who cares about storage as long as you can sleep.

RE: Equipment for using full hookups

Thanks folks.
I'll stop in the local camper supply dealer today and look for a replacement/longer slinky, mines 2 years old and probably should be replaced anyway. Does a 15'er fit in the bumper?
Don't know if I can justify the Sewer Solution as most places I go do not have a hose at the dump station that has a hose connector on it, seems they are all just cut off ends, must get run over all the time. Maybe the water thief would work. Having just an 20' trailer it'd be yet another thing to find a place for, don't imagine it'd fit in the bumper.
Joegood, never having used a sewer hookup I don't know what proper adapters would be, I'll ask at the dealer and see if they differ with what I have or will get with a new slinky.
Thanks again.

Equipment for using full hookups

Having never had full hookups I have a couple questions about them having to do with lenghts. I have the standard 10' slinky stuffed in the bumper, a 25' fw hose, and just a 15' grey hose that I use for rinsing the slinky when none is provided, are these too short? if so how long do I need them. I've never been to the CG I'm going to for next week so have no idea on hookup placement.
Thanks

RE: Maine - AT Trail

The ocean side and the mountain side of Maine are 2 different animals. You can hike parts of the AT (pick up the guide book), hope your towing a car as you won't fit many MH's at the trail heads. There are many nice areas in western maine you can kayak. If you wanted to hike the AT in baxter, you could stay in outside Millnocket at the CG at the foot of Chesuncook Lake. They used to book drop offs where they will bring you up the lake and you can paddle back. It's a big lake a good 11 miles long (not exactly short kayak waters), views of Kathadin, moose if your lucky, and quiet other then the occational float planes and fishing boats.
You really need to narrow it down some, there is great kayaking all over the state as well as good hiking. If you were to pick a travel iinerary you can then find all the hikes and waterways you want. I take it you're talking smaller rec type kayaks, and day trip hikes.

RE: spiderweb cracks

Being a new unit I wouldn't expect it, hopefully it's just a cosmetic thing. Sounds like they bent it too much for the curve and it cracked at the end of one of the internal frame members. Be interesting to hear what they can do about it.

RE: tent end problems?

In general, some leak around the front bunk, usually when moving.
Campground noise passes right through.
If you do not take precautions, the cold passes through easily, don't take the outside...
Some have reported kids falling out the ends, sounds like they are not permenently attached, some are, some aren't.
Some think it's a hassle to make the bed, as opposed to a TT where you do not break it down for travel.
Older models (like a year or 2 ago) use poles, most new ones do not, I don't know if you'd consider that a pro or a con though.
Condensation if you do not cover the fabric, as in Popup Gizmo's or the like.
Forgot one, you get a lot of light from the tent ends, if you use the covers then it's pretty dark.

I also cross them but in reality they are too long for the X to do any good, being the genius I am I never thought about (thanks Newsomer) twisting them! I'll try it next weekend.

Has anyone stayed here? I'm unable to get through to anyone and was wondering if they allow pets. I guess they don't take reservations, not much info on the web site.

RE: Gas Prices stopping you from RV'ing

Unfortunatly yes but it's not just the gas prices. Living in N.E. I have to worry about heating this winter, with oil at just under $5 the bill will be about double last years. Electric just went up as have the groceries. Everything pretty much except the income. Somethings got to give, closer trips (like 8 hours instead of 50) is an easy but unwanted way to make a cut.

RE: 2008 Aerolite Cob 185

Be interested to hear if water pools where the tent top jons the trailer body. From the pictures it looks like the water runs from the tent to the trailer.
